Born 1956 – Abadan, Iran
Arman Stepanian is an Iranian photographer and painter. He started his professional artistic career in 1972,  has participated in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, and has done a great deal of research on the history of photography in Iran. He is among the first artists who practiced staged photography in Iran and his art series were soon noticed and praised internationally. His photography series “Gravestones – 2000”, and “Doorbells – 2004” were widely seen. He was given the honorary title of Doctorate of Art by Tehran University in recognition of a lifetime of artistic endeavors.

The oldest auction recorded is for the artwork Antoine’s Shadow on Today presented in 2010 at Bonhams (Print-Multiple) and the most recent is for the artwork Dialogue presented in 2024 (Print-Multiple).
